Welcome to the Surfside PPC Newsletter! Today's email will be about Local SEO! When you run a lot of paid advertising for local service companies, it's important to understand the best ways to help growing businesses get more leads.

3 Best Local SEO Tools

If your Google Business Profile is sitting in the fourth or fifth spot in the local maps results, you're invisible to most of the people who are actively looking to hire someone right now. The businesses at the top aren't there by accident, they're working the right levers, and most of their competitors have no idea what those levers are.

Here is a breakdown of the three best paid local SEO tools we've personally used, and how to actually use them to push your Google Business Profile higher in the maps rankings. The 3 tools are BrightLocal, Whitespark, and SEMRush Local. There are others, these are just the 3 I have tried and recommend.

The most important ranking factor most businesses ignore is review velocity, specifically, how many new five-star reviews you're getting in the last 30 days. Google is trying to identify which businesses are actively doing the most work in your market right now, not which ones have the most reviews accumulated over five years. If your competitors are running ads and consistently bringing in new customers, they're also consistently generating new reviews. If you're relying on word of mouth and repeat clients, you're not getting the volume you need to compete.

The other thing that matters more than most people realize is who is leaving those reviews. Reviews from Google Local Guides, people who attach photos, and accounts with review history carry more weight than a generic five-star rating with no text. One strong review from the right person does more for your ranking than five anonymous ones.

It is over two hours long, it is completely free on YouTube, and it walks through...
