Surfside PPC Newsletter - Use AI and Google Keyword Planner to Find Better Keywords

SURFSIDE PPC NEWSLETTER

Welcome to the Surfside PPC Newsletter!

Happy Friday - You may not be reading this on a Friday, but I am writing it on a Friday. My plan is to send 2 newsletters per week, highlighting some of my new content.

If you run Google Ads for a local service business, building a solid keyword list is one of the most important things you can do before a campaign goes live. The problem is it can take a long time to do it manually, and it is easy to miss entire service categories.

I put together a tutorial showing how I combine Claude with the Google Keyword Planner to build keyword lists much faster and more efficiently.

The basic idea is to use an AI tool to generate organized keyword groups by location and service, and then use the Keyword Planner to validate search volume and find additional variations you may have missed. Using the "Start with a Website" feature in the Keyword Planner is a great way to pull keywords from a competitor's site and identify service categories worth targeting.

One thing to keep in mind as you build your list is that keyword lists have gotten smaller over the years, so focus on high-intent keywords where people are actively searching for a service. Filtering for keywords that contain "near me" is a simple way to separate service-based searches from informational ones. You do not want to pay for clicks from people searching for DIY tips or job listings.

Once you have your services mapped out, the goal is to create separate ad groups for each one so your ads and landing pages can match the search intent as closely as possible.

It is over two hours long, it is completely free on YouTube, and it walks through...
