Merchant Center Will Require 500x500 Product Images

The requirement takes effect January 31, 2027, and Google recommends 1500 x 1500 or larger. The warnings are already showing in your Merchant Center Diagnostics, so you can pull your exact fix list today instead of finding out during the January selling season.

Google Is Building Calculators Inside AI Overviews

Generative UI moved out of AI Mode and into AI Overviews, in English globally, finishing over the coming weeks. If a page of yours ranks because it holds a calculator, converter, or comparison tool, Google can now generate a version of that in the result.

In this weeks update, we have new Performance Max features, Google Search Console reporting issues, and advertisers not receiving their Google Ads promo credits. The 2 biggest updates to watch in Google Ads are still bidding and targeting. The bidding updates on August 17th have negatively impacted a few of my accounts, but ultimately Google is telling advertisers they need to spend to get...

Surfside PPC Newsletter For the Week of September 7, 2026 Hello all and welcome to the Surfside PPC Newsletter! Two of last week's changes affect what your ads say and what your reports show, and neither one waits for you to approve it. Google Ads can now pull promotional offers off your website and place them in your ads on its own, and Search Console has started reporting your AI search visibility without telling you whether any of it turned into clicks. That is the frustrating part about a...

Surfside PPC Newsletter Week of August 31, 2026 What's up everyone, welcome to the Surfside PPC Newsletter! Two of last week's changes will move your numbers without anything in your account looking different. Google is about to start charging you for calls nobody answered, and organic clicks are sliding on queries where your rankings never moved. That is what makes a week like this one frustrating. Nobody sends you an alert. You find it in the bill, or in Search Console a month later when...
